gild
verb cover thinly with gold

glower
verb have an angry or sullen look on one's face; scowl

impassive
adjective not feeling or showing emotion

onerous
adjective (of a task or responsibility) involving a great deal of effort, trouble, or difficulty

ostentatious
adjective characterized by pretentious or showy display; designed to impress

pejorative
adjective expressing contempt or disapproval

pensive
adjective engaged in, involving, or reflecting deep or serious thought

pretentious

vacillate
