High above the snow-peaked mountains of Everest, far beyond where the weaker, more feeble birds of varied species flock together, three colossal beasts arose from their pits of darkness. They wanted to try one last time. Flying in circles above the glimmering sea, the trio imagined their life there, tanning on the beach and swimming in the ocean. It was truly tempting, as they were getting a bit tired. But they had to go home.
No dictionary, nor wise man, nor professor could even try to start to comprehend their synchronised movements, elegantly gliding through the air like swans, their immaculate scales shone brighter than any pearl or diamond under the sun. Then they saw it. Shining brighter than ever before, the sun stood before them, as if it were welcoming them home.
Eyes bloodshot. Wings firmer than ever before. Heart rates out of this world. Legs numb. Mouths dry. Time and space seemed to have stopped in its tracks as it seemed.
